how good is the X700 vid card?

How powerful is the X700 vid card on a laptop?

With a 1.8 Pentium M, 512-1024 MB RAM, and that vid card can you run HL2, far cry, etc. pretty well?

Good for video editing?

You can run all of that pretty well w/ that x700...i wish ATI made good cards; Nvida's are better; the comparable x700 is the 6600GT, a pretty good card, cheaper (i think)

Everybody here is going to tell you to go with the 6600 GT. The X700 though, especially in a laptop, isn't that bad. The 6600 GT is better. Either or those cards will kick arse in a laptop, considering laptops aren't really made to be gaming machines.

I have a 6600GT in my desktop , I know that those are really good.

I've just seen some laptops with the Radeon X 700 and wondered how those were.

I have never seen the 6600 GT vid card on a laptop.

nvidia only makes the Go 6800/6800 Ultra for notebooks as far as the 6 series go.

not true, the asus z71v has a 6600go in it. as far as laptops go, the x700 mobile actually outperforms the 6600go, but in desktops the 6600gt kicks the x700's butt.
