I am making a system upgrade and here is what it looks like:

Current:

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 754 Newcastle (No OC)
Asus K8V-SE Deluxe Mobo
60 GB 5200 RPM WD HDD
1GB PC2700 (2x 256mb, 1x 512mb)
400 Watt PSU

Upgrade:

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego Integrated into Chip FSB 1MB L2 Cache Socket 939

MSI K8N NEO2 PLATINUM Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce3 Ultra

SAMSUNG SpinPoint P Series SP1604N 160GB 7200 RPM 2MB Cache IDE Ultra ATA133

CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200)

500 Watt PSU, with Case (Aspire).

Don't worry about sound, graphics, cooling and CD, DVD stuff. I have all that covered.

Any thoughts, comments question? I have heard mixed stuff about Corsair XMS...

Well, I know what you are thinking cuz i though the same thing. However it's a retail PSU they included. You can buy it by itself, not some cheasy thing they throw in.

Maybe you should change the hard drive and get a SATA since the board supports it. It will make a big difference compared to your older 5400 ATA.
