HDTV recomendation

I would like to get an HDTV soon but I dont know much when it comes to TV's. I want one for gaming and I hear 720p is the best resolution for it. So could anyone recomend a good 720p TV around 20 inches (could be a bit lower or higher) and that costs preferably less than 400 bucks? If I need to, I'm willing to go up to 500.

1080p is the best res for console games, for pc try one of dell or apples XHD monitors

The thing is, I dont have that kind of money so I'd much rather a 720p TV.

I've had my Sony WEGA for about two years now, its a 46" HDTV and of the rear projection kind...so it has a little more depth in the back than most TV's these days, but I swear by it.

These types of televisions are still easily found in the stores, and they are generally much less money than LCD and Plasma I find.

I love it because there is *NO* pixelation, the picture is crisp and looks fantastic.

I've narrowed it down to two choices. This one:

But I'm not sure what I should go with. Someone said no VGA for the Samsung could hurt. Why is that?

its only 480p, but if you hurry www.woot.com has a projector that can do 140" with a 1500:1 contrast ratio for only $389.99 and it comes with a dvd player and speakers. its only got 30 or so minutes left on it.
