Stupid Machines Arent Really Talkative

=P

Believe TheMajor could better explain what it means, because honestly I forget the purpose of it being disabled or enabled

SMART is a option in the BIOS that lets it monitor your HDD to see if the HDD shows signs of a failure ahead of time. All newer HDD's work with the SMART option. So enable the option. Very good if you have a HDD full of sensitive data and you don't want to lose it.

Anyways when enabled it will show if your HDD is working right or starting to fail.

It is error reporting for hard drives.

It reports all the infomational values about your HD's to your BIOS, and if their is an problem, SMART will usually tell you weeks in advance about a HD failure
