Hi, I have a Maxtor 20 gb Hard Drive as Master and a Maxtor 160 gb Hard Drive as Slave. I recently needed to format the Master so I backed up many files to the Slave. I reinstalled WinXP and it recognized the Slave drive, but if I click on it it tells me the disk has not been formatted, and I need to format it. My BIOS tells me the drive is only approximately 31 GB. There are no BIOS upgrades (That I can find) for my BIOS, plus since it recognized the drive in full before the format, I don't think that is the problem anyways. I have SP1 installed as well which is supposed to enable large drive support. So, I am really not sure what the problem is, hopefully someone else does. Also, Easy Recovery Pro finds the files on there, but it gives me an error before it gets to the files I need. I would really like to get the HD back in full if possible as I will lose a lot of hard work. I appreciate any help. Thanks, CD

Give that link a try and download VirtualLab, see if that'll work, I'm not quite sure why your computer is acting up, but I'm sorry for ya. That program should help to recover lost data on damaged partitions which is where I'd head with this thread...

I found that other link (the first link) because virtuallab says you can recover up to 1 meg to see how the program works without buying it >=( anyways, good luck
