Getting a Driver to "Start"

I have been having audio problems (as in, it saying "No audio device found") and the only thing ive found how to fix it is when I examine the audio driver in the device manager it says "Driver is enabled but not started". Problem is I dont know how to start it. Could someone please help me?
 
Have you rebooting since you installed the driver?

If you have and still have this problem, check the manufacturers website, and go to the support area, and look under FAQs, or 'common known issues'

Also, did you have the audio working before?
 
Well i just had to get a new hard drive, so this is the first install of audio on it, and yes ive rebooted many times and checked in the BIOS settings to see if anything was there, but nothing was.
