well here is the new comp i am building

processor - amd athlon xp 2400+ (already have this from previous comp)

video card - ati radeon 9600 xt

motherboard - ASUS nForce2 Ultra 400 Chipset Motherboard for AMD Socket A CPU, Model "A7N8X" -RETAIL

ram - Corsair Value Select (Dual Pack) 184 Pin 1G(512MBx2) DDR PC-3200 - OEM

hdrive - Seagate 80GB 7200RPM IDE Hard Drive, Model ST380011A, OEM

case - ASPIRE X-Dreamer II Silver ATX Mid-Tower Case with 350W Power Supply, Model "ATXB4KLW-AL/350"

the price adds up to $583 not including the processor since i alreayd have a 2400+

How will this comp handle with games such as unreal 2004, Call of Duty, and future games like WoW?

Is my processor good enough or should I get a new one and just get 512 mb of ram instead of 1 gb?

I would say you should do fairly well with new games. Any chance of upgrading your video card to a 9800pro?

Also are you getting an A7N8X-E, or A7N8X-X, or some other variant?

I would also like to add that a 2400+ only has a 266MHz FSB, while your selected RAM runs at 400MHz. Are yuo planning to overclock your processor?

well im not very good with computers,r u saying if i dont overclock then it wont run properly?

It will run fine. But you're paying for faster RAM speeds.
PC3200=200MHz (400MHz DDR)
PC2700=166MHz (333MHz DDR)
PC2100=133Mhz (266Mhz DDR)

oops, i didn't see your last questions.

I think 512 MB would be plenty. I run unreal 2004 and it works great on my computer.

I think your processor is good enough, so try it and if you aren't happy go ahead and upgrade your processor. (if you're even thinking about doing this go ahead and get the pc3200 RAM you'll be beter off in the long run.) :)

thanks a lot, also do u think the power supply that comes with the case is good enough?
