File server

I am hoping someone could please help me out. I am wondering the pros and cons of using ATA, SATA, or SCSI while putting together a file server. I am including chassis, controller, an array of hard drives, and a backup device. Cost could be between $1500-3500. I appreciate any help.

i would either go sata or scsi....ATA is slower then SATA and SCSI is faster then both...

It depends how fast you need it to be really. If you have a 100mb upload speed than go for SCSI, otherwise SATA will be adequete and you can fit it in the 1500 budget.
