How can I, using Excell muliply a hh:mm formatted cell by a rate of pay in order to get a total cost in £UK
i:e 02:30 * £9.00 = £22.50

Please advise

If your trying to say they worked 2.5 hours at £9 a hour, you'd be better off just typing that.

Mixing formats such as time and general causes conflicts.

Really what I gave was a simply example but some times I have to enter a time of start say 08:35 and a time of finish say 13:22
I then subtract start from finish to give hh:mm which then is multiplied by rate. have I still got to work it out on my calculator? but I was trying to autio the process.
