A: Errors

I finally got my old hdd put into my new computer and sucessfully copied my important programs over, with the help from The Major, Intercodes and others. Thanks!!!!

My New Problem:

I installed the old hdd into the old computer and when it went to boot up I got this- A:\Error Press Delete to Resume.
When I tried to put a floppy in it, it wouldn't do anything.
It just came up an error box that had Not Aceesible/Retry.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Your old HDD isn't getting detected. Check whether it shows in the BIOS . If not , recheck your cables and jumpers.

I put it in a the In-Laws home. Will check and get back with you.

The computer does function. I went online with it and other things. Just the floppy drive want work. Thanks IC.

Why do you need to boot from the floppy with the old hard drive. Liz

Check if you didn't connect the FDD cable backwards. (floppy cable)

Perhaps you simply have a bad floppy. They go bad quite often. Also, check and see if the cables are all tight.

Southern Lady, they still use floppies at their house.

Floppy drives are cheap to replace. I've found them for as little as $10.

But make sure it's just the floppy first. Liz

Roger that! Everything else works fine. Yesterday when I reinstalled the hdd the computer booted fine. When I got to their house today is when I encountered the problem. Everything else on the computer is working except the A:. Thanks

Go here: http://www.pricewatch.com/ to check for floppies. Also do you live in an area of NC that has computer trade shows? Check those out. Liz
