DVD Drive install?

Well, I just installed it from another pc and this drive on the front has a plug in for ear phones and a volume thing beside it. The thing is it dosent work. Any ideas on how to fix it?

my old comp has one of thoes too and it doesn't work. i think there are some extra cables you have to plugin, or some software editing.... i'll do some research and get back to you. p.s. whats the band, and you comp stats?

Alright thanks, I have been working on an old HP to try and get it running to put in Linux. It had a pretty new DVD drive in it A sony I think. So I took it out and added another drive to my pc. I am tried now, think I will go eat.

Well, I think that you need a plug that's goes to the DVD to the sound card.

Yes you do its a little wire from the dvd to the sound card if you put it in backward it wont hurt it just reverces the sound
