DVD: can't play video, can play audio

Have a laptop with a Toshiba DVD. Origionally came with WinDVD software and played DVDs fine. The OS got corrupted and we had to re-image. Now I cannot get any DVD video even though I can receive audio on either the WinDVD program or Microsoft Media Player. No one can figure it out. Please help.

they may be a file which is conflicting withe the drivers of DVD , you can try uninstalling the software as well as the drivers of the DVD from device manager
do also try uninstalling the startup items in the msconfig (that is basic)
if this is not done the again mail me and i will give more troubleshooting steps
