Disabling the Touchpad on my Laptop?

I have an Acer 2200 laptop and I was wondering is there any way to disable the touchpad because everytime I type something, my hand brushes up against the pad and messes me up. Its quite annoying. Does anyone know if there is a way to disable it?

Try in control panel under mouse settings or it may even have an Icon of its own as my trackpoint does.

I remenber seeing another post either here or on one of the other forums I visit.......will post when I find it.

yup, i have mine completely disabled, go into the configuration utility in the contol panel, uncheck the touchpad, reboot and youre done

What configuration utility are u talking about? And I dont see anything in control panel for touchpad.

It would be the mouse properties.

yea i had that same problem w/ my sis's lappy and its really annoying.

Problem solved. I had to install my touchpad drivers and then disable it from that.

hehe, I have to love my laptop, it has a little button to press to turn it off right on it that may be the only thing about that laptop that is good...
