Computer problems

My friend accidentally downloaded that bad MS security patch and now her computer is not working well at all. She tries to boot up but it just freezes and the hour glass just sits there. Not all icon or entries in system tray appear. Any ideas on what has to be done?

Try getting into windows through SafeMode. Then unistall that "bad security patch". Then let it load normally. If it works, never install that patch again.

F8 i believe during startup
