i have 3 fans total:

1 on side of case
1 on PSU
1 on processor

And yes, my computer is loud. I have improved it though, i added better quality fans, and have my computer on a carpet, instead of hardwood flooring.

5 total, not including PSU, vid card or CPU.

2 in front for hard drives (especially for the Raptor)
1 on side
1 on top
1 on back
All are Antec Blue LED 80mm fans.

It's pretty noisy, but it is a constant reminder that heat is being pwned :D

this may sound stupid, but how do you add fans for the hard drive?

And also, GPU fans are for the video card right?

Yeah gpu fans are for the video card.

I have:

1x80mm side fan
2x120mm intake and exhaust
1xCpu fan (Zalman 9500)
Psu fan

All together, about 5. Its not too noisy and it gets the job done. :D

Re:

Just one 120mm case fan at the rear of my PC. I had to replace the original Sunon MagLev because it kept making ticking noises. Ball bearings must of worn out, so I put an Antec SmartCool fan there instead.

System is quiet most of the time. Although my mobo CPU sensor measures idle temps around 50°C and load up to around 60°C. Don't think the mobo sensors are accurate. Only loud when fans spin up around load but not too distracting and doesn't too often.

Noise mainly comes from my annoying Seagate Barracuda 120GB 7200 drive when seeking. Annoyingly loud! Sounds like a hedge trimmer or someone dragging a wheeled suitcase across concrete!
