college pc

my cuz is going to college. she wants to know if she should bring a laptop or a desktop. she does games but doesnt want to be the only one there lugging a desktop around. should she get a cheap laptop for like media and stuff and school papers and then a desktop for games. She needs good gaming gear. plz help. her budget is 3k. and she asked me to build her the desktop if that is what i think is best. plz help soon.

get an AMD desktop for her dorm is shes staying in a dorm. And a cheap laptop for other stuff.

Get a top of the line Acer laptop. They are bad ass. Amazing reviews and more!

Get both the laptop and desktop, doesn't hurt to have both. Unless she has very limited space, then she should just get the laptop.

I would suggest a good PC for games, with a cheap laptop for word processing and stuff
I'll post some specs for them when I get home from school

for bout 3k shes looking at 3400+, abit 3rd eye, xms 3200XL, 2x 80 sata HD, case, eVGA 6800 GTand all.
And a good laptop like an acer.

Like that she has a VERY good pc, and a very good laptop. That should round out to about 3k
