Can i copy a dvd- to a dvd+

I bought a dvd+rw/r drive with dvd+rw discs from pc world. I tried to copy data from a dvd-R to a dvd+rw using 'Easy cd + DVD Creator 6' but it always get stuck on 66% when preparing data. Is this because the dvd's are not compatible or is there a problem with cd creator? Would i be better off with a dvd- RW/R drive?

Would appreciate some advice

A DVD+ SHOULD be able to read a DVD-. I think the incompatibility problems were only with the set top DVD players and that was mostly with the early ones. Are you able to read the DVD- disc with the DVD+ drive? If you can, then try making an image file first then writing that to another DVD. Or else it could just be the ROXIO 6 that you're having problems with.

d3bz26 try copying the data from the source disc to the hard disk first. than from the hard disk copy the data to your blank DVD.
