Amd 2800+

My friend has an AMD 2800+, 512 DDR Ultra DMA Ram, 120 HD Ultra DMA, and a GeForce 4 graphics card. He wants to know what would be some good upgrades for a budget between 500-1000 USD.

Well, for 1000$ you can built a nice AMD64 system. I suggest that. You dident say what type of processor, so im guessing its a 2800XP. If you do have a AMD64, then a new processor/mobo/videocard would be great.

or if he wants to cheap out, a new video card plus ram. OR if he wants to really cheap out, just a new video card

Yeah I would reccommend not getting an AMD system but get a P4, maybe something around 2.5Ghz-3.0Ghz is plenty good. Also the GeForce FX6800 GT is an awesome video card, although thats about $450...

I would build a whole new PC TBH

But upgrading the video card and ram would also be good.
