Advice on raid setup

I would like to set up a software raid5 on my xp-pro.I have 2 adaptors to select from,an atto dual channel or an adaptec 39160N single channel and 3 seagate drives.Any ideas on the best way to go?Also is it true that I cannot boot from this array?If not,can I boot from my existing ide hard drive?thanx

you can boot from a hard raid array, but you can not boot from a software array. If you wanna boot from the scsi, you can make a small partition on one of the drives, and then make a raid array through windows with the rest of the drives
