I currently am running a 128mb 9800 pro and was wondering if it would be worth the 150-200 bucks to upgrade to a 6600gt. Would i notice a significant performance upgrade as compared to my 9800 pro? Or would it be better to go a step up and get a 6800gt.

also, a 350w Antec psu should be more than suitable for the 6600gt right?

heres the one im looking at

the 6600GT does beat out the 9800pro, but whether it would be worth to step up from I don't really think it is........now going to the 6800GT would indeed be a good step up especially considering if you get a company like leadtek or eVGA chances are you'll be able to run it at Ultra speeds on stock cooling.

Concerning the PSU I'd honestly suggest something like the 480w Thermaltake Butterfly PSU I believe it is.....has a decent +12v rail and a good amount of wattage overall so you won't have to worry about using up it's power any time soon.......350w would be cutting it somewhat close IMO.

Well, depends on how much of a serious gamer you are. Unfortunately, any 128mb card on HL2 or CS:S will work, but if you play like Doom 3 or something, step up to the 6600/6800.

Not a big enough increase to warrant the money spent. Keep saving your money and then step it right up to a next gen card. If you got the 6600gt I think you might be upset because the differences wouldn't be as huge as you would expect, compared to if you got a 7800/x900.
