I did an AVG virus scan of my floppy and found an error (dont know what that error is, and no virii).
Floppy drive (both old and the new one I swiped in) does not recognize diskettes in drive. 2 cables (1 ribbon, 1 power) are plugged into drive.
New floppy drive reads properly in new computer (at least to detect scsi adapter diskette, though it doesn't actually work).

I have had $1500 as no more than a paperweight since the 22nd, please help!

apok, the only thing I saw in BIOS as not being enabled was the multiple floppy drive thing.
Floppy is enabled.

make sure pin 1 is towards the power and the ribbon is correctly seated. Usually the constant light is either improperly seated ribbon cable or just a bad floppy. Worse case is bad controller.
