hard drive issue

while trying to boot windows from D: drive a message of "STOP: 0000221 unknown Hard Error \SystemRoot\System32\ntdll.dll" anyone know of a fix or is hard drive dead

It isn't your hard drive that's the problem it's Windows. Either you got a virus that affected the NT Layer DLL file or it has been corrupted. Have you successfully booted from this drive before?
