I was building a new system and as I was installing Windows XP, the first time I got a graphics card driver problem. So I did another installation and I got a blue screen. I tired it two other times and always got some type of blue screen error. I get another harddrive and install windows on it and it goes without a problem

What could have caused windows to not install properly on that first harddrive? Could it be that it has bad sectors or something? I know it works because it was able to install windows, at least to a point and once I install windows on the other harddrive, I added it to my computer and could see the windows files so that means it works.

Should I just get rid of it?

I would first hook up that drive and run chkdsk /r /f on it. that will scan for bad sector and try to repair them. If anything it will mark them as bad and not use them. See if you can at least use it for storage.

If the drive has made any kind of noise in the past it is most likely dying.
