so a while back, i bought a pair of San Disk 64gb flash drives. they have been used several times each (probably a 2 year period), and today, i found something kind of strange. one of them now shows (in my computer) that it is a 32gb drive. i have tried formatting it a couple of times, which i am sure did nothing other than erase data. i KNOW that both of them were 64gb when i initially received them. did half the drive die? or is there a way to fix this?

try going into Disk Management to see if there is unallocated space on the drive. If there is, you can try extending your existing partition. AFAIK you cant have a drive with half of it working because it is damaged.

Are they actual SanDisk flash drives and not counterfeits?

How would i tell? both of them were in factory looking packaging, and had the sandisk security software (I don't remember what its called) in them. i cut and pasted the software into my desktop to free up the space in the drive. security around here is something i don't worry about.
