Ok, so I looked at the july 22nd price drop for Intel and it says that the E6850 Conroe 3GHz will be the same price as the Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz.

So my question to you guys.... which one would you buy if you had these 2 choices, and why?

The quad core has a slower FSB, but I'm not sure if that will make that much of a difference. Maybe the E6550 will be the best bang for the buck.

I will most likely get the E6750, does anyone know which MOTHERBOARD is good for this??

WTF...... i always see a same post after I post..... SORRY... um... I should search before I post...

Can you guys still give me some input on the MOTHERBOARD?

The motherboard to get now, is the Gigabyte P35-DS3R, if you're not planning on SLI.

If it's between the Q6600 and E6850, I would pick the Q6600, because sooner or later, games will be supporting more cores. At the price of around $270, for a quad core. That's hard to pass up. With good aftermarket cooling, and good airflow, you can get that Q6600 past 3.0GHz.
