Multimedia PC (4K Netflicks/Prime)

I got an email saying JoeC posted on this thread- asking about why get a high level MOBO why not spend the money of a better M2 SSD - But when I come to the forums his post inst here- anyhow- the SSD I listed in the Partpicker List is a SSD that I already have - picked it up a few months ago on a special for $70 - so that is why.

OK - well finally getting back to this build. I got crazy with "real life stuff" . So did not purchase anything yet other than this mobo:

https://www.newegg.com/gigabyte-x570-ud/p/N82E16813145168?Item=N82E16813145168

When I go to Gigabytes website and try to find the supported RAM to use - I see several RAM lists. Which one do I use? https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X570-UD-rev-10/support#support-doc

Its really getting difficult to wait and pick up parts on sale to create a good built when each part has to be checked and rechecked on support pages, etc.

I think 16 GB ( 2 x 8GB) of 3200 should be amble, wouldn't you think? or because the AMD G series CPU does use RAM for the Video - should I get more and better/faster RAM?

Also whats the difference between the 3200G VS 3400G in the AMD CPU's. Will that little bit of increased speed make any difference in a multimedia PC?

I also cant find my prior purchased M2 SSD = https://www.newegg.com/intel-660p-series-1tb/p/N82E16820167462?Item=N82E16820167462 on the supported SSD area. So does that mean it probably will not work on the MOBO I just bought?

ok thanks- Now to find RAM on that list - so far nothin but super expensive stuff.

For a media PC you really want to double check NVENC decode check boxes. Personally I would go with a 1650. It seems extreme, but since 4k HDR 10bit is rather standard in the case of "acquired" content it really needs it. A 1050ti would be fine too, but I feel the prices are too high for cards that are several years old by now.
I would say go with a Quadro P400 but those all have mDP outputs so not really suitable for an HTPC.

The 1650 is a Turing chip but it has a Volta NVENC chip on it. Rather good for media purposes as far as encoding and decoding.

So, you don't think the 3400G without a separate video card will suffice for watching 4K content from Netflicks, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. NO gaming at all. The whole point of the build with the 3400G is to NOT have to spend cash or deal with the heat, etc. of a video card.
