Alright, so I've made this PC for gaming - pretty much atleast. Nothing as high-end as Crysis, but for stuff like WoW, CoD 4, Starcraft 2 (When it comes out.) and games like that... So here're the specs:

Case: Raidmax Smilodon

Motherboard: Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe AM2 nVidia nForce 570 SLI MCP

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800 Brisbane Core @ 2.5GHz,

Memory: Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1 GB) DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800

Hardrive: Western Digital Caviar 160GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s

Graphics Card: nVidia GeForce 8600GTS 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

Power Supply: XCLIO GOODPOWER 500W ATX 500W Power Supply (I don't know jack about PSU's, so if there's a better one (SLI Ready.) that I can get, let me know plz.)

Ofcourse you've got your CD-ROM drive, and the mouse, and keyboard, but just as it is now, is there anything I should change?

I was going to do the same thing as you, but it really is worth saving a little longer and opting for the 8800gt if it isn't too late.

Itll play crysis if you get the 8800gt, that cpu is the same ive got and so far its eaten anything ive thrown at it. If you like oc'ing, the 5000+ black edition has an unlocked mutiplier. The 8600gts is on par with a 7900gs, just so you know. Are you in the us?

Go with an Intel build and overclock.

Mobo: MSI P35 Plat/Gigabyte P35 DS3R/the cheap Abit P35 board.

Pentium 2180/C2D e4500

250GB Samsung

If your in the UK, you can have my graphics card for £50 shipped.

That PSU is fine.

Amd is fine.

Everything is nice, but throw in a little more cash and get this 8800gt:
Newegg.com - XFX PVT88PUDF4 GeForce 8800GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

Also, you could get a slightly cheaper motherboard to cover up the extra you're spending on the video card, or you can even upgrade the cpu a little, to an x2 5000+ Black edition. If you want a cheaper mobo get this:
Newegg.com - Foxconn N570SM2AA-8EKRS2H AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

its $60 after rebate.

Very high end? Name one AMD chip in the same pricerange that beats my e6300.

To the OP: If you aren't a total cheapskate: get an Intel, overclock it, and be happy.
