The Noctua NH-D14 on new egg says (backplate required) for socket AM3. Does anyone know if it came with one, or do i need to purchase a third party bracket?
^ i watched that and he didnt say anythinga bout AMD bracket... so im going to say that it does not come with an AMD bracket. very interesting.
if you go here and look at the paper work that is included with the noctua NH-D14, it says that if you do not have a back plate, to contact them. im sure they will send one to you and all will be good. http://www.noctua.at/pdf/manuals/noctua_nh_d14_manual_en.pdf
EDIT: and if they dont send you one ( which i cant imagine them not ) i can give you one i have laying around for free ( just pay shipping ).
After looking around I don't see any AM3 backplates for sale. This leads me to believe that you have to use the AM3 backplate that the stock heatsink is using, but I could be wrong.
