GTX 970 OC or RX 480?

So i recently lost my job, had to sell my amazing rig i had, i've just managed to get an okish one from a friend but with no GPU.

I'm stuck between a GTX 970 OC for around £120 ish, or a RX 480 for £220?

Which one would be better for me? PC is amd also.

According to their benchmarks, there's a very miniscule difference in framerate for the games they tested. I'd say get the 970 for cheaper and OC it.

I had a OC'd GTX 970 before. im seriously confuddled between both of them. So i guess get the 970 then?

Grab a used 970. Will be cheaper and don't have to deal with AMD drivers.

Most if not all review samples are 8GB cards and those are more expensive. TPU reference shows 5% but the minimal increase isn't worth the extra cash as these are rigs setup for best case scenario. A used 970 would be even cheaper and price/performance ratio would be better than a 480.

Well, i decided to go for a GTX 980 SC instead... haha! Got if for £220 shipped.... Was this a good idea, or a big mistake?

That's cheaper than the 480s I see on Scan, sounds good to me.

This ultimately is a choice between AMD and Nvidia. Both are decent cards and will play almost anything that you put into it. Everyone has their own preference, but I have always used Nvidia cards for gaming and AMD cards for video.
