Galaxy Mega New OS?

I am wondering what mobile Operating Systems are out there for android devices.
I have a samsung galaxy Mega SGH-I527 which I just play one game on and every once and a while listen to you tube. I am not sure what I want to do with it. but I am curious what cool things I can do, can you install a Kahli OS on it? what about a straight Android OS with out crapware but will take advantage of all the phones features, like Wifi, Celluar network, IR blaster, bluetooth etc...

Not really seeing much on XDA for that phone, in the Galaxy Mega OS (even when searching for it).

Looks like there's a way to get stock rooted 4.4.2.
