ok, I had an idea. Since a lot of this is focused around OT, why don't we make an OT section with an min age requirement? Everything goes except the obvious stuff(porn, etc). If they lie about their age to get in, thats not TF's problem.

@ Sui, Don't know what to tell you about all you've said. The mod team, myself included, work hard to keep TF clean and working well. Yes, rules are enforced, sometimes strictly so, but only when needed. TF is a public forum, but it is privatley owned, so the rules as established by the owner is what must be followed. We cannot allow just everything (that's called anarchy), nor can we leave deleted threads open for every member to approve of them being deleted. Often times a thread or post is deleted that seems innoculous itself, but, looking at the big picture, is/was a part of something else.

The owner and admin think the mod team is doing a heck of a job with all the changes and disruptions that have been happening of late. While theirs is not the only unit of measure, it means that the mod team is doing what it is supposed to do. The vast majority of the members here have no problem with how things are run or the rules that are in place. Even most of those who do have issue with some of the rules realize that TF is not their own private playground, but a site provided by an individual for the community to use.

What that boils down to is this: TF has its rules and its mod team. The mod team will make sure those rules are abided by, and will not wait to have the actions they must take approved by general consensus. No one is above the rules of TF (myself included), and all who want to post here must agree to abide by those same rules. The rules themselves are pretty leniant and allow complete expression excluding profanity, flaming, racism, and certain topics (sex, religion, politics).

Tf is a great place. While not as colorful as some, it is a collection of intelligent posters and a storehouse of knowledge. things have changed a good deal from how TF used to look, but these changes are for the betterment of TF, and there are still more changes to come. All of these changes are well overdue, but that wait could not be avoided. Fine-tuning of the forums is still taking place, and new skins and features are in the near future. All in all, TF is becoming an even better place to hang your hat.

a few things:

Mt. Everest is not privately owned, nor is there an active community there

climbing Mt. Everest doesn't do much to Mt. Everest itself. It's not going to cause it to become unstable or anything.
