Recently, my computer has been running a bit laggy. Its usually quite fast for being an older computer with an older operating system (Dell studio 1737 on 64-bit vista home premium) and hasn't had any problems before I installed avast when I had windows 7. Its a long story, but in short, I had to restore, avast wouldn't update, told me I had to try to update in safe mode. And that caused the computer to go to a black screen whenever I click "Run computer normally" and it got stuck when I tried re-entering in safe mode on the driver loading screen. So I used the vista re-install disk that came with the computer and it loaded up fine. I started using Avira Anti-virus. No problems after that for a few months. Then, a week or so ago, sometimes the icons from the desktop will phase through the google chrome browser, and as I said before, its running slower than usual.
Is this a browser problem? Or could it be a virus?
