Need help on Mac

And I just shopped yesterday and could have clicked on something. My page now could be full of ads sometimes. Some read ‘Ads by PriceMinus' in the bottom. I Google and found some posts like this one. But they are about Windows. How can I get rid of those annoying ads from my Mac machine?
Thanks for any advice.

PS. I cannot use Firefox to surf now. And Safari is OK. But I use Firefox more often.

Try opening FireFox in Safe Mode and see if there are any unknown add-ons / extensions installed in FF:

Thanks, carnageX. When I scroll carefully in the page I linked, to find it provides steps on Mac as well. So stuuupid I am. If this does not help, I'll try your link later.
