Free Antivrus

Remember, that the Independent Studies show that there are various free versions that are just as good as the ones you pay for. Much like the Free Version of BitDefender that has the same scanner and definitions as the paid version. Which is the top rated protection at this time per independent studies.

So you use the free version without all the bells and whistles and still get the same great protection. So you get security for nothing.

I use Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free and it hasn't failed me yet and I don't expect it to. Some of the fancier ones also get on peoples nerves when they block things that are completely harmless. No point in paying $50 a month for something like that. If I was downloading questionable material a lot then I might pay for the better ones just to be extra safe.

I have been using the BitDefender free. No issues and I have purposefully tried to get infected to no success.
