esrv.exe ?

this came up on my laptop this morning, which i shut down last night for the first time in about a week. normally, i just put it into sleep mode. but it has been acting weird, so i thought i would try restarting it. after i was on this morning, i closed the top like normal (which i have set to put the computer to sleep), but this afternoon, i found it had shut it off. anyway, both times it took a long time to boot all the way up (over 2 minutes), and i got a message box notification saying

"esrv.exe The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application. "

also, the second time (this afternoon) it booted up, it completely rearranged all of my desktop icons. i have no idea what esrv.exe file is, so i thought i had better ask.

Do you have the Intel Driver Update application installed on your system? If so - sounds like it's related to that.
