I'm still curious as to which viruses are powerful enough to play peek-a boo. Mine was a ransom ware and they can't do that right?
After a bad virus attack I have these concerns.Help!

Not the answer you want to hear but... Depends. Malware is always evolving to be infectious (just like real life viruses & bacteria evolve - except malware is human-coded).
Also depends on the delivery mechanism - multiple pieces of malware can be used to deliver, keep, and spread the "payload" or primary infection.
Can't say I've heard of any ransomware strains myself that can hide like that, but that's not to say they don't exist.
