I'm unable to send any email from Outlook 2003. I got my servers set up right (incoming: mail.domain.com outgoing: smtp.domain.com), but I can only receive email and get the error message saying unable to sent anything.

I contacted my domain support and they suggested that it could be a firewall, which I disabled and the problem continues so that's not it.

They also said some ISPs have disabled port 25 (SMTP) and you can only use their smtp servers instead? Anyone heard of this before?

What's the solution to this? Thanks in advance.

can you ping the domain name?

you may need to tell outlook that the outgoing server requires authenication. edit email accounts, advanced button.

Port 25 blocking is actually quite common among isps. Many hosts work around this by offering alternate ports on their smtp servers. Check w/ whoever's hosting your mail server, and see if they do.
