Take away permission for Access Shared Files

I want to take away the ability for another computer to access my shared files . . . without having to un-share those files. I required a username and password to view the files, but it seems after entering that in just once that it's now permanent. I want to have the option of entering in the username and password and accessing the files in the future, but not right now.

not true, unless you setup a persistant mapped drive. in any case, you should be able to run 'net use' from a command prompt to view which servers you are coonected to. Run the command again with the unc path and /delete switch to remove the access; aka disconnect fromt he server. another alternative would be to logoff the machine.
