I'm using a local area connection with a Intel Pro VE Network card. I"m trying to connect my router with my usb wireless adapter. Can anyone help me or do u need more info?

thanks!

I need you to rephrase that. Why does the network cable being unplugged worry you if you are using a wireless adapter?

If you have a wired adapter which I assume the Intel Pro VE is a 10/100Mbps PCI adapter. Just get a patch cable (straight-through cable) and plug it in. Everything should be plug&play. If not, reset your router.

Now the wireless connection is a little different because you'll have to setup the security like enabling WEP or WPA. Then enter the security information on your wireless adapter. Even without the security if the adapter is compatible with the router it should automatically detect it and connect to the closest wireless router.

What is the brand/model of your router and what type of Internet connection do you have? You also need to make sure you install the driver for your adapters.
