IE without add ons

Hi there everyone and please be patient. I'm new to comps and the other day my IE came up minus the add ons. Problem accessing various pages etc... What has happened? How did it occur and how do I rectify? I've since installed firefox so not too inconvenienced but would like to know.

You should stick with Firefox much better browser than IE.
