Having trouble connecting to home network...

Bought a new laptop and when I try to connect to my home network it does not prompt me to enter a network key.

The laptop in question is a dv7-1025nr, with Vista Home Premium 64-bit.

I am a total newb with windows Vista so if one of you network gurus could help me out I'd appreciate it.
