My home network is wired, with a wireless router attached to provide access for family members mobile phones and other peripherals etc. However, the location of the wireless router makes it less than ideal for wireless networking for anywhere else in the house except for downstairs (At least, I get informed that internet in my brothers room is sporadic, at best.)

Is it possible to use a device like this (Buffalo AirStation Nfiniti Wireless-N WLI-U2-G300N - Specifications) as an intermediatary between a laptop and the main wireless router?

And if not that device, then any recomendations?

Many thanks

You will need a repeater or a dumb AP running of a ethernet extension, also what kind of walls do you have in your house, brick, wood plaster board?
