Could someone give me a link to what "Linux" is now compatible hardwarewise ?
I'm downloading a new copy of suse 12.0 right now and I'll begin installing late tonight.
I need to see if any old windows xp sp1 through vista hardware works.
Running through some old stuff I have, linux suse is mostly picking up whats on my case, its a matter of will such driver work without panic crash ?

What hardware are you using? Linux has drivers for most everything these days. If not in repositories, no doubt there's on provided by the manufacturer. Most of them at least.

Mstly about everything you would normally use for a pc, its been a few years since I've seen the compatibility chart for suse.
Thats why I was asking if you or anyone else more in advance linux knew of an official list and guide.

I had quick glance at it, its still not enough current information, when I get home at 9pm I'll continue looking for the info I need.

Later.

Mike, there is no one huge list, AFAIK. Just like there is no big list of hardware that Windows supports out of the box.

Linux drivers are made by manufacturers like NVIDIA as well as 3rd parties. Like I said, If not in repositories, it can be found elsewhere.
