The way I understand it, it is a spectator sport.
They rent high end cars to do it, and people line the roads to watch it.
I have seen videos of cars rolling with body's and limbs flying every which way, and also cars rolling over the spectators.
Last I heard they beheaded a driver because he killed some spectators.
