The Breakfast Club was great in that, unlike all the movies coming out these days, it didn't rely on special effects, 3D, musical track, or camera angles where the camera man was bending backwards holding the thing slightly rotated to the left so all the pedants could go 'oooh..so meaningful...'

Instead it relied on a great script, great acting, and issues that are relevant for kids in this generation as well as the generation it was released in.

Refreshing change from the usual scene of "good guy waters plants, bad guy shows up and does something bad, good guy tries to stop bad guy, emotional crisis for good guy, good guy overcomes crisis and continues after bad guy, good guy wins and gets the girl"

I was young when "The Breakfast Club" was released and even I can't watch it. It was a girlie movie then and now it's just a old movie with B-D grade actors.
