"USB not recognized' error on Win XP Pro..Cant use external HD anymore!!

Hi...

I have an 80 GB external hard disk which is not working on my desktop Pentium III computer...It worked the first coupla times then it started giving me the error "usb device not recognized..."


I was using it on my Siemens laptop and it was working fine...up untill yesterday where it started giving me that same error!!! I NEED to make it work and cant seem to find a way!!! can anyone help me please!??

could just be dead hardware...like those western digital mybook things....it's like a lemon fest with those, hehe

actually no its workin fine! just i thought it was a problem with the HD when it didnt work on my pentium III desktop and plugged it into my siemens laptop and it worked...i plugged it into my HP laptop just now (and my friends laptop) and its working just fine!! it just stopped working on my siemens laptop!! and i just have lots of information i NEED to copy from it VERY soon!!!!
