system uses about 215w-225w when folding so it's not too bad. Like leaving a few lights on.

Have you never heard of folding@home or something?

Nah i have, but i'm a cheapscape so i turn my machine off for the 17-18 hours a day that im asleep/at work

Well yeah microwaves are usually 800+ watts at least. But you operate them for a few minutes at most.

Anyway 200 watts isnt too bad...things are only getting more efficient as well.

This is probably true, but honestly i see no reason to run my computer 24/7 especially when it is putting out over 90F heat into a small apartment. Heck its already hard enough to keep my apt cool with the laundry room below me. If im gaming i can bring my apartment up from 60F to almost 70F in just a few hours.

its the winter so I love the heat it puts out!

takes ages to heat up the room but once it's warm it stays nice and toasty in here

Ya this is true, WHEN it finally gets cold. The weather wont make up its freaking mind. Its cold, then warm, then cold, then warm.
