I use msconfig to uncheck start-up programs I dont want running all the time. I have one that i dont know what it is. Under 'Start up' it says "dumprep 0 -K". Under command it says, "% systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k. I read after a google search that this may mean hard drive failure is coming.... my drive is 3 months old... ??
If anyone knows anything about this or if i should delete it from registry please let me know.
Thanks.

i say "dump it", lol i crack myself up

from http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/dumprep/

Process File: dumprep or dumprep.exe
Process Name: Dump Reporting Tool

Description:
dumprep.exe forms a part of Microsoft Windows XP (and later versions), in-built fault logging software. Upon serious errors this program will write the details to a text file and request the information be sent to Microsoft. This program is a non-essential system process, and is installed for third party use.

I'm not sure what to do, if anything, in the section u mentioned....it currently is set at 'small memory dump (64k)'
I have cleared dumprep from my Start-up list, by deleting it from the registry...
