my brother has a ATI 7000 that i gave to him a little bit ago, and he just got LORT: Battle for Middle Earth for christmas. He says the game runs choppy for him, so i want to ask you guys for a good card that will run the game. The 6600gt would have been the best choice in my opinion, but it is just too expensive for him right now. So i was thinking of the 9600. What do you think?

What is the current system he is using? the 6600 might be too much. The 9800pro is a good value.

6600GT is like $210 at newegg. That guy said he paid $180 for it at fry's which of course would be more expensive.
At newegg I'm only seeing 9800 Pro 256mb for $265 and up...
Cheapest 128mb is $189 so how is it much cheaper? It's like $30 more in these instances.

768 mb RAM
Radeon 7000
i was thinking something around 100-150
i have a 9600 se and it runs cs souce and hl 2 fine (not highest setting mind you, but still beautiful none the less). So i thought a 9600 or a 9600XT would suite well. Is Battle For Middle Earth more graphics intensive than HL2?
