1. the first thing - please explain what means "good"?
2. and the second - what does mean "couple laptops for £ 400"?

Minor explanation - do You want get rid of money or You need 1, 2, 3,.. (how many?) computers, but You have £400? What exactly You want?

As I am a college student and need a laptop on a daily basis. Acer Aspire 3 is doing fine for me as I am using the one.
Whereas as every laptop have different features, you can choose among these which suits you the most.
